Tools & Equipment Needed

Before getting started, make sure you have the following tools on hand:

· Deep Sockets with Ratchet

· Trim Removal Tools

· Flathead & Phillips Screwdrivers

· Wire Strippers & 2 Fuse Tap Kits

· Masking Tape

Pre-Installation Pro Tip:

Before you disconnect your truck’s negative battery terminal or unplug any door power harnesses, roll your windows down completely.

Step 1: Remove the Interior Door Panel & Trim

Remove Door Panel: Locate and unscrew the door panel retention bolts (commonly hidden behind rubber plugs, inside the door handle cavity, or along the bottom edge of the door).

Disconnect Switch Plate Harnesses: Carefully lift the door switch panel. Unplug all wiring connectors for your power windows, door locks, and mirror adjustments.

Lift Off the Door Panel: Lift the door trim panel straight up and off the door frame. Set it aside on a soft blanket to avoid scratching.

Step 2: Remove the Factory Mirror

Unplug the Harness: Locate the primary factory mirror wiring plug and disconnect it.Unbolt the Mounting Nuts: Have a helper hold the exterior mirror housing (or reach through your rolled-down window). Unbolt the 3 retaining nuts securing the mirror base to the door shell.

Remove the Mirror: Carefully slide the factory mirror studs and wiring harness out through the door holes.

Step 4: Install Your New Towing Mirrors

Guide the Harness: Feed the new mirror's wiring harness and mounting studs carefully through the door panel holes.

Hand-Tighten First: Seat the base flush against the door gasket. Hand-thread all 3 or 4 hex nuts onto the studs to ensure threads aren't cross-threaded.

Torque to Spec: Evenly snug down the nuts with your ratchet. Do not overtighten, as this can crack the plastic base or pinch the door sheet metal!

Step 5: Harness Connections & DRL Wiring

Plug the new mirrors harness back in. The three extra wires in the green frame, which is the reverse light, daytime running light and negative. [Click to view the specific wiring diagram]

Use a coat hanger or wire puller to guide the extension harness through the rubber door boot and into the vehicle's interior cab under the dashboard.Slide heat shrink tubing over the Blue(DRL) and White wires(Backup Light), join the passenger side and driver side wires together, then use a heat gun to seal and insulate the connections.

Run the wire through the firewall grommet under the dash to the interior fuse box.

Connect the white wire to the trailer's reverse light signal, and tap the blue wire into the LT Parking Light fuse slot using the provided fuse tap (refer to the image below for exact terminal locations).

Step 6: Test All Mirror Functions Before Reassembly

Before snapping your interior door panel back on, reconnect your battery and perform a full functional check:

Power Glass Adjustments: Test Up/Down/Left/Right movements.

Turn Signals & DRLs: Check for proper flashing rhythm (ensure no hyper-flashing).

Manual Extension: Verify smooth motor operation without binding.

Heated Glass Function: Feel for warmth.

Once everything tests all functional, reattach your door panel, tighten the screws, and snap the sail panel back into place.
